I popped over to the local newsstand post-morning coffee to grab the May issues of my favourite British publications before settling down at my favourite spot — propped up on my large and unbelievably comfy faux fur pillow — for the rest of the afternoon (and evening if I might add), immersing myself in the pages of beautifully-executed high-end fashion editorials and well-written to the point of being intellectually stimulating articles on worldly lifestyles and passionate work ethics, accompanied by a box of decadent Godiva chocolates and the sparkling scent of Versace’s Yellow Diamond, one of my favourite fragrances and a gift for my twenty-third birthday.
I’m always inspired by these pages and the energy which flows through them, fuelling my drive and ambition even more with every story and profile I encounter within said pages. There’s always a certain je ne sais quoi about it all, a certain joie de vivre perhaps, to savour and experience everything this world has to offer. And I love British publications — I favour them over any other editions the world over, which is unsurprisingly why I love Porter (run by luxury retailer Net-a-Porter) as well. I somehow find their articles the most insightful, and I do admittedly have a soft spot for British English (and London) and their flair for writing. I think having pursued my tertiary education in the UK plays a big part in it all.
I do have to say though, I love winding down on weekends, especially since I started working with this company. Sundays particularly as I’m usually busier on Saturdays since I try to schedule plans then so I can spend my Sundays at home or at someplace intimate, recollecting after a busy week and preparing myself for the next work week ahead. Even more so if I can indulge in something worth indulging in. Mm, bliss.
Wrapping it up, enjoy your weekend, all! I promise to have more posts up soon.
