Not usually a fan of Louis Vuitton (I never understood the appeal of their signature classic monogram bags) but this collection piqued my interest with its Eastern influences. Metallic halter cheongsams, shimmering fringed shifts, monogram lace skirts and fans in rich jewel tones, sequin obi-esque sashes paired with exotic floral and zebra prints, statement clutches, even a boldly different take on the classic suit, Marc Jacobs (and Kansai Yamamoto, whom he drew inspiration from), you’re a genius. I do love orientalism especially if incorporated into Western culture and yes, I’m a fan of fusion.
You can view their entire collection here. Even their set was spectacular: black and gold fringed curtains and a faux marble runway with majestic tiger statues. Have now jumped on the LV bandwagon, hup!
